This gives a perspective of the future of Ribera del Duero and Rueda, based on the selection of the best grape of both Denominations of Origin.
This represents an important wager for the future.
The company was created as a result of the ownership of important extensions of Tempranillo grape vineyards in Ribera del Duero, whose produce was sold to other wine producers.
Not too long ago, the owners decided to create their own wine and they called it “Loess”.
The 2008 vintage was the first of the exceptional Loess Wine Collection, which might not be better than other Ribera del Duero wines, but it does look forward to a truly extraordinary future.
It is worth to follow its evolution.
The Loess Collection is a structured wine with a great and well-rounded body. Its vivid acidity stands out, together with the pleasant sweet flavour of the tannins, which mark the two major differences in this wine. It is intense, but not explosive, and it fills the mouth little by little and remains on the palate during a much longer period of time. It has a long taste and is an elegant wine.
This wine combines perfectly with any type of meat, including the roast suckling pig or the roasted goat. It is also ideal for average-type cheeses and especially for serving with Manchego cheese.

The red wine contains water, alcohol, non-fermentable sugars, organic acids, mineral salts and very few vitamins of the B group, in addition to colouring and anti-oxidant substances.
The polyphenolic components of the wine come mainly from the skin of the grape and the pits and so the red wine has greater concentrations of these components than the white wine. The polyphenols (flavonoids, resveratrol, tannins, etc.) are involved in the prevention of cardiovascular pathologies and certain carcinogenic mechanism, thanks to its anti-oxidant activity.
The energy-giving value of the wine is related to its alcoholic content (7 kcal per grams de alcohol) and to the sugars (4 kcal per g). Its moderate consumption in healthy adults can be beneficial in the prevention of diseases like cardio-vascular ones and certain types of cancer.
